Nothing to click
The blanks are ink, not fields. So you get a comment pin, a sticky note, or a text box you drag into place by eye — and the tools that do it properly cost a subscription and assume you are annotating a contract.
Botple Notes
A worksheet isn’t a form — it’s boxes drawn on a page. Botple Notes finds the answer areas for you, or lets you click anywhere and type.
Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” for any program it has not seen many people install yet. It is not a virus check that failed — it is Windows saying it does not recognise the publisher.
Removing that message means buying a code-signing certificate from Microsoft, which costs money we would rather not pass on to students while Botple Notes is free. So it is going to say that for now, and we would rather tell you than let you meet it cold.
To install anyway: click More info, then Run anyway. To skip it entirely, use the browser version — it is the same app and needs no install at all.
Free. No account, no sign-up, nothing uploaded — your worksheet stays on your own device.
Real forms — tax returns, applications — have proper fields built into them, and any reader can fill those. A worksheet almost never does. It is a page with lines and boxes drawn on it, so there is nothing for a form-filler to find.
The blanks are ink, not fields. So you get a comment pin, a sticky note, or a text box you drag into place by eye — and the tools that do it properly cost a subscription and assume you are annotating a contract.
It reads the page and hands you the blanks, boxes and ruled lines it finds — tab between them and type. Miss one? Click anywhere on the page and type there instead.
Four things, and it does them on your own machine.
It reads the page and offers the blanks, boxes and ruled lines it finds. If it misses one, click anywhere and type — you are never limited to what it found.
Type where typing is faster, handwrite where the page wants working out, highlight the question, or record a voice note if it is easier to say than to write.
Only have the paper copy? Photograph it. The page edges are found and straightened, and from there it behaves like any other worksheet.
Export a new PDF — or page images, if that is what you have to upload. Your original worksheet is never modified, and it all happens on your device.
Open a whole folder of submissions and mark straight through it, without opening files one at a time.
There is also a class report that shows which question everyone got wrong, rather than only who scored what.
No trial that ends, no upsell waiting at the export button.
No sign-up, no email, no password. Open the page and start.
Your worksheet is opened by your own browser, on your own machine.
Once loaded it keeps working with no connection at all.
Nothing about you is sold, because there is nothing collected to sell.
A scientific calculator where fractions stack and answers come back exact rather than as decimals. Works offline and installs like an app.
What it does →A reading comprehension tool built around real classroom-style passages and a debate-style way of checking understanding — not just multiple choice.
See what’s coming →Botple is made by one student who got tired of study tools that cost money he did not have. Everything here is free because that was the point of building it.
