Using Botple

By using any Botple product, you're agreeing to these terms. They're meant to be short and genuinely readable, not boilerplate.

What Botple provides

Botple's tools are provided free of charge, as-is, without warranty of any kind. Botple is not a registered company; using it doesn't create any formal commercial relationship, membership, or guarantee of continued availability.

No guarantees

Botple Calc's results are provided for convenience and study purposes. While care is taken to make it accurate, it shouldn't be treated as the sole source of truth where an error would have real consequences — always double-check anything important independently.

Botple Notes is changed frequently and may have faults; its teacher tools are still in beta and are labelled as such in the app. Whichever part you use, it saves your work on your own device rather than on a server, which means you are responsible for your own copies — clearing your browser data, a device failing, or a browser reclaiming storage will take that work with it. Export anything that matters, and keep a copy somewhere else before a deadline.

Your work is yours

Anything you open, write, draw or record in Botple Notes belongs to you. Botple claims no ownership of it, does not receive a copy of it, and cannot access it. If you save a file to your own Google Drive, it is governed by your agreement with Google, not by these terms.

You are responsible for having the right to use the documents you open. Botple Notes is a tool for filling in worksheets you were given; it isn't a licence to copy or redistribute someone else's material.

The installed app

Botple Notes can be installed as a Windows application. It is currently unsigned, so Windows may warn you before running it — that reflects the absence of a paid code-signing certificate, not a finding about the file. Install it only from botpleedu.com. The app checks botpleedu.com for updates and will ask before installing one.

Teacher beta access

Teacher features are offered free during the beta, by invitation, and are not a purchase. Access codes are issued to a named person and shouldn't be shared. Access may end when a code expires, and codes can be withdrawn if misused. Since this is a beta, these features may change or be withdrawn as they develop.

Acceptable use

Don't use Botple's tools to cause harm, attempt to disrupt the service, or misrepresent them as your own. Don't attempt to forge or share teacher access codes.

Names and ownership

"Botple Calc," "MindSight," and "Botple Notes" are project names used to identify these tools. Botple does not currently hold any registered trademarks. The Botple Calc app and its source code are the original work of its developer.

Changes

These terms may change as Botple develops. Meaningful changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
